* Edit Revenue Goals over time as needed

* Add notes to each listing’s goal to remember why a goal was set the way it was

##
****What Value Should I Use as My Revenue Goal****

There are a variety of ways you might consider setting a listing’s Revenue Goal. Note that this goal tracks rental revenue, and does not consider fees or taxes.

* If a listing has historical data, consider using last year’s total revenue as a starting point. If it feels like the market is doing better or worse than last year, a small adjustment may be appropriate

* If you have meaningfully improved the property, consider using last year’s revenue with a 15-20% increase

* For properties new to the rental market, consider what you would need to make in a year to cover your costs of operating and maintaining the property

* If you purchased based on a rental pro forma, you can use the projected revenue provided to hit your profitability expectations

That's it! You have officially set your Revenue Goal!

## ****How do I monitor my progress?****

We suggest regularly monitoring the progress towards your goal, comparing to how the listing has done in previous years, and what might be going on in the market that could cause you to under or over perform your goal. Please note that Revenue Goals should be used to help you proactively monitor performance and make the right adjustments at the right time and is _**not**_ a revenue guarantee.

At the top of each listing page you’ll be able to see the progress towards your goal while hovering over the tooltip will show you how much revenue was on the books as of the same date in prior years to help you understand whether the listing is pacing ahead or behind it’s historical pace during the year:![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/603e4c1ab69d9cd3c0b6f415/837f4bfa6af71779429d45cafef0c8e2.png)

If you have multiple properties and want to keep an eye on progress across your portfolio, using the Revenue Goals data columns in the Dashboard is a great way. You can sort by goal amount and progress to goal to easily spot listings that might be ahead or behind where you would expect them to be:![](https://cdn.kustomerhostedcontent.com/media/603e4c1ab69d9cd3c0b6f415/30e98f17ddeb3f8aaf0d5c27dd053a2d.png)
